Hmmm, not much to report. Still waiting to hear about schools and even which key stage I'll be teaching in. Spending my time on TES forums mostly, and still reading the 'readings for reflective teaching' book. It always seems like it's going to be hard going each time I pick it up, but some of the readngs have been really quite interesting.
Sigh. Just want to get on with it! Argghh.
I've arranged to do my work experience - 5 fridays in March, a week in June and another in July. I'm really looking forward to it now.
On the book front - Hogfather was fab, and now I'm reading Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine. Again.

Hi
I've just stubbed my toe upon stumbling on your blog. I have read with my eyes and interest and am glad I have discovered something worth my time on the confusion/endless pit of mindless dust that is the internet.
I am applying for the GRTP (Lancashire) and have made it through to the Application Seminar ...to commence in just a few weeks. Once at this 'seminar' I have to sit an English test, one hour in length. Would your wisdom have any wiseness on this test? I've applied for Primary.
I really hope I get through this stage and to the final hurdle of an interview.
Wow, an english test, hmmm?
I'd recommend revising up to at least KS2 level, if not KS3. Try the BBC Bitesize website.
From things I've heard from others they'll probably be testing you on your grammar and punctuation, and get you to write an essay or the like on a set subject.
For mine I had as long as I wanted and was given three different titles to choose from, I used it as a way of getting across my enthusiasm and how my current job is preparing me for teaching, as well as making it an engaging read and technically correct.
Good luck - and check out www.tes.co.uk/staffroom for loads more forums full of advice!
